KorTerra's map features enhance locator accuracy and efficiency with tools like zoom controls, navigation to specific coordinates or addresses, facility identification, distance measurement, full-screen view, layer switching, and map annotations. It also offers photo plotting—available with the Visual Evidence license—to view locations of photos associated with tickets, plus a cursor coordinate display.
Zoom Button
Use the Zoom button to zoom in and out on the map.
Select the + button to zoom in.
Select the – button to zoom out.
Note Organizations can increase their maximum map zoom level. For more information, visit KTM Increased Maximum Map Zoom Level.
Zoom Level Indicator
The Zoom Level indicator displays how far the map is zoomed in.

Layer Switcher
Use the Layer Switcher to select between map base layers (Satellite or Street) and any configured facility layers. When in Ticket View, you can also toggle the dig box on and off for a clearer view of the ticket details.
Layer Load Indicator
The Layer Load Indicator provides visual feedback on the status of selected layers in the layer switcher:
A checkmark indicates that all selected layers are successfully displayed.
A red triangle with an exclamation point signals that one or more selected layers have failed to load.
Zoom to Latitude/Longitude
Use the Zoom to Lat/Long tool to zoom to a specific latitude and longitude on the map.
Select the Zoom to Lat/Long tool.
Enter the appropriate latitude and longitude.
Select Zoom to Lat/Long.
Zoom to Address
Use the Zoom to Address tool to zoom to an exact address on the map.
Select the Zoom to Address tool.
Enter the correct address (Street, City, and State).
Select Zoom to Address.
Identify Facilities
Use the Identify Facilities tool to display the facility attributes for your configured facilities. Facility layers are configured by KorTerra Support on your behalf.
To view facility attributes:
Ensure your facilities are turned on via the Layer Switcher (see below).
Select the Identify Facilities button.
Select any facility on the map to view its attributes.
A red circle will appear where the identify feature is performing the query.
Note You can adjust the identify sensitivity at different zoom levels. For more information, visit KTM Map Identify Feature—Configurable Identify Distance per Zoom Level.
Measuring Tool
Use the Measuring Tool to measure distances on the map.
To measure distances:
Select the Measuring Tool button to start drawing.
Choose the units you want to measure in.

Draw your measurement on the map.
To finish drawing, select the Measuring Tool button again or double-select the end point.
To delete your measurements, select the Measuring Tool button after finishing your drawing.
Photo Plotting (KorTerra.Net Only)
Use the Photo Plotting feature to view the locations of photos associated with a ticket. This feature is not available in KorTerra Field at this time.

To view photo locations:

Select the Camera icon. The icon will turn green, indicating that the photos have been plotted.
Note The map pane will display a banner indicating the number of attachments (photos) plotted. Attachments and photos without latitude and longitude coordinates will not be plotted. The plot selection (on/off) does not persist on refresh or new ticket page load and must be re-selected to activate the photo location viewing feature.

When activated, photo locations will display as map pins with green outlines and either gray or black centers.
A pin with a black center indicates multiple photos at the same or very close locations.

To view the photos associated with a map pin, select the pin. A pop-up will appear, displaying thumbnails and basic information about the photo(s).
Select a photo to view a larger version.
Select the Download icon to download the image.
If multiple photos are associated with a map pin, each photo will display in the pop-up. Scroll down in the pop-up to view additional photos.
To stop viewing the photos on the map, select the Camera icon again to turn off photo location viewing.

View Full Screen
Use the View Full Screen button to view the map in full-screen mode.
To exit full-screen mode, select the Exit Full Screen button or press the Esc key.
Map Annotations
Use the Map Annotations feature to mark and document important locations on the map by drawing various shapes and saving comments with them. You can draw shapes in different colors to help identify specific features.

The Lat/Long Indicator displays the latitude and longitude of the location of your mouse cursor
