Overview:
From Gopher State One Call:
"Effective Aug. 1, 2024, operators must provide a report to the Minnesota
Department of Public Safety Office of Pipeline Safety (MNOPS) each
quarter. This report must include the number of notification requests by
type, the percentages of notifications marked on-time as well as the
number of utility damages that occurred by cause. Operators with fewer
than 5,000 notifications from the previous year (other than pipeline
companies) are exempt from these reporting requirements. State law
prohibits MNOPS from initiating an enforcement action based on
reporting data. MNOPS will publish the data from the reporting on an
annual basis."
Key Points:
- Every quarter, operators with over 5,000 notifications from the previous year, and pipeline companies must submit a report to MNOPS.
- The report is based on notification requests, on-time percentages of notifications, and damages.
- Operators will have to submit the report through an online form.
- The first report is due at the end of January with Q4 data.
What to expect from us:
KorTerra is currently preparing a report that will include the necessary data you will need from us to meet the notification and on-time data elements required for the reports
Users of our Incident Manager will have access to their damage data, but all others will need to keep track of this information manually.
The initial data submission is not due until the end of Q4 of this year, with the final submission deadline being 30 days after the close of Q4. When the report is available in your account, we will notify you it is ready to test.
Video Overview:
The video below is an overview of the law changes, followed by a Q&A with the members of MNOPS and GSOC.
Notes:
- The new reporting requirements are initially discussed from 20:30 - 30:37.
- Additional clarification regarding the submission deadline for the first report is provided from 23:39-24:45.
