Overview
CO811 is moving from the Newtin platform to Exactix. This change affects how attachments—such as photos and documents—are handled when responding to locate requests in KorTerra.
What’s Changing
In Exactix, attachments can’t be added by locators or members before a positive response is sent to CO811.
In KorTerra, attachments are usually sent to the call center as soon as they’re added to a ticket. Because many locators take photos in the field before sending their final positive response, this Exactix limitation impacts normal workflows.
How KorTerra Handles Attachments
KorTerra automatically manages this change so attachments continue to be sent successfully.
When an attachment or photo is added before a positive response has been sent:
KorTerra sends a temporary positive response with code “025 – Locate Not Yet Started.”
A comment is included that says: “Posting Attachments, Locate to follow.”
This response allows attachments to be accepted by the CO811 Exactix system.
After the locate is completed, the locator sends positive response (for example, “Marked” or “Clear”). The new response replaces the automated response previously sent to Exactix.
What This Means for You
No action needed. Your existing workflow stays the same.
Attachments still send automatically. KorTerra handles the temporary response in the background.
You may notice a temporary response. The “025 – Locate Not Yet Started” status might appear on tickets before the final response is sent.
Example Workflow
A locator receives a CO811 ticket.
The locator adds photos or other attachments in KorTerra.
KorTerra automatically sends response code 025 with the message “Posting Attachments, Locate to follow.”
Attachments are delivered successfully to CO811 through Exactix.
The locator finishes the locate and sends the final positive response.
Why This Change Matters
This update ensures attachments continue to flow from KorTerra to CO811 without disruption. It’s a temporary adjustment that works around a system limitation in Exactix.
Looking Ahead
KorTerra is monitoring CO811’s Exactix rollout. If changes or improvements become available, we’ll update the integration to ensure compatibility.
