Overview
KorTerra.net and the Field app now support an increased maximum map zoom level, with the previous cap of 20 extended to 26. This enhancement allows for closer inspection, particularly in areas with dense asset clustering. We recommend starting with a moderate adjustment from 20 to 24, as even small changes significantly improve visibility.
Zooming in closer dynamically adjusts asset visibility and label display, helping reduce overlaps and improve clarity.
Prerequisites
KorTerra.net login credentials
KorTerra system administrator access (Note: Customer administrators cannot modify this setting)
Availability
The increased zoom level is available to all customers using KorTerra.net and the Field app. Configuration changes must be made by a KorTerra system administrator. Contact KorTerra Support to request these changes.
Instructions for KorTerra System Administrators
Navigate to KorTerra.net > Maintenance > Customer Settings.
Select the Mapping tab.
Adjust the MapMaxZoom value:
We recommend setting to 24
The maximum allowed zoom level is 26; values above this are blocked.
Optionally adjust the following settings, based on base layer or overlay capabilities:
Base Layer Max Zoom: Ensure this does not exceed the native max zoom of the base layer. If unsure, leave it at 20.
Overlay Max Zoom: Similarly, ensure this stays within the overlay’s native max zoom, and leave it at 20 if uncertain.
Label Zoom Level: Modify this setting to control label visibility at various zoom levels.
Note: If adjusting the map max zoom level, you should also consider adjusting the Map Identify Distance per zoom level.
