Syncing issues can disrupt your workflow in the KorTerra Field app. Use these tips to minimize problems and keep your app running smoothly.
Check Your Internet Connection
The KorTerra Field app supports offline capabilities, but syncing tickets and attachments requires an internet connection. Follow these steps to ensure optimal connectivity:
Confirm Connection Type: Determine whether you're connected via cellular data or WiFi. Connection quality varies based on location and service provider.
Assess Connection Strength: Weak cellular signals can slow syncing. A strong WiFi connection is generally more reliable.
Switch Networks: If WiFi isn't performing well, try switching to cellular data, or vice versa.
Change Locations: Poor connectivity at your current location? Move to an area with stronger signal strength.
Keep the App Open and in the Foreground
Syncing requires the app to remain open and active on your device.
Avoid Closing the App: If you minimize or close the KorTerra Field app, syncing will pause. This can delay ticket updates and responses.
Perform Manual Syncs: When managing a large number of tickets or attachments, manually syncing ensures timely updates.
Steps to Manually Sync:
Tap the Sync icon in the top-right corner of the main menu.
Tap the Sync icon in the pop-up to start the process.
Once syncing completes, verify the updated "Last Successful Sync" timestamp.
Adjust Sync Frequency
You can customize how often the app syncs to fit your needs.
Change Sync Settings:
Tap the menu icon (three lines) in the top-left corner.
Select Preferences.
Locate Sync Frequency.
Choose a new frequency (default is 15 minutes; 5 minutes is recommended for high activity).
Save your changes by selecting OK and tapping the disk icon in the top-right corner.
Sync Regularly Throughout the Day
Regular syncing reduces data buildup and ensures smooth operations.
Morning Sync: Start your day with a manual sync to confirm tickets and attachments are up to date.
Midday Sync: Perform a manual sync around lunch to prevent delays.
End-of-Day Sync: Complete a final sync before finishing your day to prepare for tomorrow.
Handle Problems with Attachments
Attachments, such as photos, can be affected by connectivity issues. Use these tips to avoid errors:
Limit File Uploads: Avoid uploading too many files at once, especially in areas with weak connectivity.
Check Sync Status: Use the app's sync status feature to identify and retry failed uploads.
