The transition from Old User Management to New User Management in KorTerra brings a few changes. These updates go beyond just a fresh appearance and include new fields and requirements. It's important to understand these changes to ensure a smooth transition.
If you want to make an update to a user, you will be required to fill in these new required fields.
New Fields and Requirements
Addition: First Name, Last Name, Middle Name, and Preferred Name fields are now included in KorTerra.
Mandatory Fields: Among these, only First and Last Name are mandatory.
Username Email Requirement:
New Policy: KorTerra now requires usernames to be valid email addresses.
Existing Email Addresses: If an email address is already on record for the user, it will be offered as an option during edits.
Impact on Login Credentials: Changing a username means the user's login credentials will update to the new Username/Email Address. It's crucial to communicate this change to the user to avoid login issues.
Password Updates: If you are only updating a user's password, these other changes won't be necessary.
One-Time Password: You can create a One-Time Password for a user at any time to assist with login issues.
Understanding these changes is essential for a smooth transition to the New User Management system in KorTerra. Ensure that you communicate any changes in login credentials to the users to prevent any access issues.
